Planning Board

Responsibilities

The Planning Board consists of seven members who are appointed by the City Commission and serve staggered terms of three years each. Some of the board's duties include:

  • Prepare and recommend, in accordance with Florida Statues, a Comprehensive Plan
  • Monitor and oversee the effectiveness and status of the city’s Comprehensive Plan
  • Coordinate the city’s planning efforts and programs with those of other Bay County jurisdictions

The Planning Board is also designated to advise the City Commission on the following matters:

  • Annexations
  • Development Order Applications (both residential and commercial)
  • Land use changes
  • Rezoning changes
  • Transportation facility changes
  • Updating the Land Development Regulations

Currently this Board meets only as needed
