Bay County Animal Control (BCAC)

The City of Callaway is under contract with Bay County Animal Control for issues concerning animals.

To file a complaint or concern pertaining to animals, please call the Bay County Animal Control Dispatch Line at (850) 784-4005. For other information - including information on lost, found, or adoptable pets - please call the Shelter Line at (850) 767-3333 during regular business hours. In the event of an extreme emergency dial 911.

We would like to remind everyone due to COVID-19, at this time the BCAC office is currently operating at an appointment only capacity, appointments are available from 10:00 AM - 3:30 PM.

Complaint Calls / Responsibilities

Bay County Animal Control handles all animal complaints within the City of Callaway including:

  • Animals running at large
  • Dangerous animals
  • Neglected animals
  • Noise / barking
  • Smell complaints

 BCAC Policy on Stray or Feral Cat(s):

 For BCAC to pick a cat up, it must be contained in a trap or cage. You can either use your own trap or pick one up from the Shelter. They will collect $35 for a deposit on the trap which will be refunded when the trap is returned. They will come out and collect the cat and either take the trap back or leave it if there are multiple cats in the area. They do not charge for this service.
