[ARCHIVED] City of Callaway Recognized with Three Municipal Achievement Awards!

The City of Callaway received three distinctive awards from the Northwest Florida League of Cities (NWFLC). NWFLC consists of municipalities within the 17 northwest counties stretching from Jefferson to Escambia County in Northwest Florida. This very active organization works closely with and is supported by the Florida League of Cities in representing the interests of Northwest Florida’s municipalities to the Executive Office of the Governor, the Florida Legislature, and state agencies. Administrative, technical assistance, and outreach in support of the NWFLC is provided by the John Scott Dailey Florida Institute of Government at Florida State University. Jenny Anderson of the Institute serves as the NWFLC Executive Director. The following awards:

  • Mayor Pamn Henderson was presented the P.C. WU NWFLC 2020 Municipal Official of the Year Award for her leadership and civic service to the citizens of Callaway. Due to her leadership and civic service to Callaway, Florida's Northwest municipalities are stronger than ever. She has provided caring, well-thought out, and collaborative partnerships while showing innovation and dedication to preserve a better quality of life for the residents.
  • The City of Callaway was presented the NWFLC 2020 Community of Excellence Award for our Economic Development / Beautification initiatives to drive community pride and growth of our City.
  • The City of Callaway was presented the NWFLC 2020 Gene Wright Municipal Resilience Award. This inaugural award was presented to ALL member municipalities of the NWFLC as recognition for their unprecedented efforts to provide ongoing leadership to deal with the multitude of issues due to COVID-19 including finding ways to safeguard their citizens health and welfare, dealing with emergency financial constraints, developing ongoing and future municipal prevention plans, while making best efforts to boost the morale of the community. Moving forward, the award is anticipated to recognize annually member municipalities demonstrating unique leadership qualities when faced with unique and challenging circumstances.

The City of Callaway is honored to be recognized for these awards.
