What Are My Setbacks?
Setback Definitions & Your Zoning District
Building setbacks are established by the zoning district (e.g., R-5, R-6, R-7, etc.) in which your residence is located. You can determine what district your property is located in by looking at the Zoning Map.

After determining the zoning district, view Section 15.500 of the city's Land Development Regulations for setbacks (find the subsection for the specific zoning district the residence is located in and setback standards are listed under "bulk regulations" of the zoning district). The listed setbacks apply to the dwellings.

Accessory Structures
There are separate setback standards for accessory structures. These include, but are not limited to:
  • Arbors
  • Decks
  • Detached garages
  • Storage sheds
