Board Responsibilities
The Board of Adjustments (BOA) consists of five members who are appointed by the City Commission. Each board member sits for a three-year term.

The Board of Adjustments powers and duties include the following:
  • Act in an advisory capacity to the City Commission and to make recommendations to the City Commission concerning the need to study, revise, or amend city codes and ordinances affecting the growth and development of the city
  • Authorize special exceptions or uses
  • Authorize variances
  • Hear and decide appeals
